an exciting and unique opportunity to have fun while promoting environmental
awareness. The Efest Eco–Art Contest is an opportunity for artists and
art organizations to inspire people about the potential of recycling and
conservation, said Catherine Seress, one of the Eco-Art Contest coordinators
for Efest 2008. The other coordinators include Rick Hughes with AnythingArts.com
and Jesse White with Sarasota Architectural Salvage.

- All entries must be comprised of mostly repurposed materials (recycled, discarded, reused, etc.)
- Each entry must be accompanied by an 8 X 10 inch stock card with a distinct title on the top line and a typed description of the process for creating the entry. Specific references in the description should be made to all the repurposed materials used and the meaning of the original piece of art. The card should have specific contact information about the artist or art organization on the back side. This will include names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mails.
- All registered eco-art entries will be displayed at Efest 2008 on November
15-16 from
9:30am to 5pm.
- Individual artists, art organizations or other groups must register before
5pm EST on November 1.
- Early registration may result in marketing promotion opportunities with the media.
- Art entries should not be taller, wider, or deeper than six feet in
any direction.
- Most entries will be displayed on top of standard 8-foot tables covered
with a
table cloth.
- The registration form on this page must be completed to be considered
a registered entry.
- Only registered entries will be displayed at Efest 2008.
- Participating artists are responsible for transporting their art entry
to the Sarasota Polo Grounds in Lakewood Ranch.
- All entries must be completely set up between 1-5pm on Friday, November 14. Overnight security is provided by Efest.
- Artists or their representative are responsible for picking up their
exhibit no later than 6pm on November 16.
- An individual artist may enter EITHER individually or as part of an art
organization or other group.
- An artist with a booth or display at Efest 2008 is eligible to participate
in the contest.
- Participants in the contest agree not to promote their entry to Efest visitors so that all of the participants have a fair opportunity to be considered for the People’s Choice Award.

Participating artists, art organizations or other groups agree to give Efest Florida and participating media permission to take pictures of all the entries and to include select images with press releases and feature articles in various magazines and other media.
Efest 2008 is a free community event that will attract people of all ages,
including children.
